These are the last two things I made. Last weekend I cooked my very first turkey! It turned out really well and I lived off turkey salad sandwhiches for the week after, soooo good!!!

Then yesterday I made a turkey stew. It turned out good but its lacking in flavor. I put lots of poultry seasoning, some sage, fresh ground pepper and salt and it still is bland. I did have a box of stove top stuffing so I cooked it up and put it on top of my stew in a bowl and ate it like that. There was a lot more flavor that way. So yeah I'm trying to become as skilled as my mother. I've been told I look like my mom, I sound like my mom, I laugh like my mom, so why not try and cook and bake like her! Naw my mom makes everything the best and I couldn't even compare, but maybe I can come close.

Last weekend I attempted buns again. This time they turned out flat. They went from balls to pancakes! I've been told that because of the wind and the altitude it makes for a harder time baking things. Hopefully that is the reason in this case and not my lack of baking skills! I'm gonna keep trying until they turn out perfect!!

In the other picture is a Broccoli Chicken Bake. It turned out really well.

I've taken up cooking and baking while up here in Churchill. Its better for me to find a recipie and buy the ingrediants for it and make enough for the week or weekend and half. So these are the first two things I made. A potatoe cheese soup, I added bacon because I love bacon and I will put it in whatever I can!! This turned out very good.
Then I tried making buns for the first time (thats what is in the other picture) they look like Tim Bits haha. They tasted pretty good but didn't rise.

This is my back yard. I thought I would go buy a shovel to clear it. But then I looked out there and there is a lot more snow out there then the last time I looked, maybe I won't be clearing it out after all......

This is the Tundra Buggie Tours building. I thought I saw that the gift shop was open yesterday. So Sharon and I walked over there and it was closed. Sharon is my shopping buddy, its nice to have someone to walk in the cold with and explore with.
The next picture and the one after is what I bought myself for my birthday. The sweater is a lined sweater, its super warm and my touque wasn't warm enough so I bought a new one and it has bears on it. I also bought that ring for myself, as you can see I really like bears and polor bears are my favorite!

Super cute dogs that were outside of the Trading post yesterday. You could hear them from inside crying because they were cold. But I guess they need to toughen up so they can pull a sled and be out on the tundra. I went to try and pet them and they didn't like that so much. They didn't want to be touched they just walked away from me.

Febuary 23rd, my birthday. The first year in my now 27 years to have a birthday without my family. It felt weird and made me sad , but I made the best of it and it turned out pretty good. When I walked into the room at work Sharon and Avere started singing happy birthday and this is what I saw on the window to the office. Throughout the rest of the day though I kept forgetting it was my birthday haha. The middle picture was just for the fact that this is what I looked like on my 27th birthday. Then in the evening I went to fiddle lessons. I'm really enjoying them, and I had a really good time that evening. I bought a fiddle that night as you can see in the last picture. I bought it second hand at a really good price. We had angel food cake with strawberries and whipped cream, also had pinapple and coffee! Terry made the cake it was really good! I also blew out 1 big bees wax candle haha (no boy friends, thank goodness. Wish I had gotten a picture of the cake and candle). Then when I got home I skyped with Mom and Alex. That was great, mom brought a candle up to the screen and I pretended to blow it out and mom did actually blow it out!! It was fantasic! I had a really awesome day!! (This weekend I'm also going out for birthday supper with Avere and Sharon)

This is what some of the housing looks like in Churchill. Everyone is nice and close to everyone else. The last picture is of the Inuit Museum and the Anglican Church.

The tide was in when we were walking, you can't see it but there was open water beyond the ice.
The next picture is the Port and the back of the Complex where I work. Theres pictures of the boat down at the Bay and the last picture is taken on that boat.

Went out for a walk this afternoon. I wanted to walk down to the bay so I asked Joanne if she would like to go with me. So Joanne, Gibson (Joanne and Terry's wolf dog) went for a lovely walk.

This is the theater in Churchill. I went and watched True Grit here last night. They only get one movie a month or every two months sometimes. It cost 8$ to get in and I had a Pepsi and chocolate bar and it cost me 3$ so its not too bad. There were only maybe a dozen of us at the movie.

This is my second try at baiting a fox. There is a fox that we feed our left over toast at the daycare. The lady that cleans the daycare has seen the fox twice and when I try to watch for it it never comes! This night she didn't come either. I've been told shes a beautiful red colour with a white tipped tail. One of these day I'll get her picture.....

I was asked if Churchill has a newspaper. So I asked someone from Churchill and she said this was the newspaper. There is also a bulletin board at the Northern (the grocery store). There is a newspaper though that comes out once a month and it is a paper.
